Happy New Year to All of You!!!
This past year has had a major theme in my life and that is FAMILY. This past year begun with connecting to my father’s side of the family and seeing cousins I had not seen in several years. After visiting Tucson, Arizona, I decided to go back to my routes and change my last name from Hutton, to my maiden name, Kippur. A process that took 9 months in total, including court dates, fingerprint checks, and a few headaches and tears along the way, but finally, my name is legally changed to Kippur!
2011 was also my 10 year anniversary with my cutie pie Chad. Hard to believe, and that time went SO FAST. He has been really supportive of me since I’ve met him, so glad I went to Herman’s Hideaway that night, March 2, 2001!
Chad and I also celebrated the premier of the last Harry Potter movie of the series which took place July 15, 2011, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Since that time I have seen the move three times in the theater, one of those being 3D and 8 additional times at home after it was released on video November 11th.
My father had his 70th birthday in late July (oye vey) and we just had a small celebration at Brio’s, which is what he wanted. My brother and I were going to send our parents to Israel with me (another oye vey) but because the trip changed a great deal from what was originally presented to us, we decided to skip it, and a good thing too because I had a new work assignment for 2012 that would have prevented me from going anyway.
Chad lost his cousin Mike and I lost my cousin Bruce both to lung cancer within two weeks of each other (late September/early October).
We end the year with three more family members passing, all within three weeks of each other. Chad’s beloved brother Michael died tragically in an automobile accident when his truck slid into a muddy, cold, Minnesota lake Sunday, December 4th. The following Sunday, December 11th, my Aunt Doris passed away, one year to the day after my Uncle Marvin passed away. Later that week, December 15th, my cousin Marshall was found by his mother, my first cousin Rebecca, in his room having passed away from unknown cause at this time, he was only 23 years old.
Needless to say I will be SO glad to see the calendar say 2012. I am looking forward to enrolling in a program to become a Nutrition Consultant and beginning a new career, while still working at CU (got to have that retirement).
Hope all of you have a happy and healthy new year and best wishes!
