On Sunday I had a fabulous day with my friend Zac in Capitol Hill. We had brunch at City O City, a restaurant located on 206 East 13th Street, Denver. I had a macrobiotic brunch special including carrots, tofu, and brown rice, pictured here.
City O City has an extensive choice of vegan and vegetarian options in addition to gluten-free. The restaurant also serves our meat-eating friends. All menu items are made fresh with seasonal agreements. This is the second time I’ve been to City O City. They purchased the shop next to them and have expanded and remodeled since my previous experience.
I recommend trying City O City followed by a venture to Wax Trax Vinyl. You will find some rare goodies, I ended up getting a couple of albums, a rare Duran Duran promotional dance mix and my boyfriend’s favorite Police hits. Prior to the record shop we went to the used book store next door. Rare first editions and signed books along with classic used books.
Our last stop of the afternoon was House of Commons for an old-fashioned tea party with some of Zac’s friends.
Sometimes we all need a break from cooking our own meals and going outside of our normal hangouts to find true treasures with good friends.
