Healthy Snacking

Who doesn’t love to have snacks during the day?  Snacks have a role in the nutrition of your body.  Having a snack during the day keeps your blood sugar stable and reduces adrenal stress.  Healthy snacking can boost your energy during the day.  If you snack on vegetables, your body will get additional nutrients.  Naturally sweet snacks such as a fruit smoothie, a piece of antioxidant rich dark chocolate, or some sweet peppers with hummus will satisfy your need for something sweet in the afternoon.  Having a fiber filled snack such as hummus can additionally assist in reducing inflammation.  Check out the recipe below from the Healthy Snack Recipe Guide put together by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and subscribe to the Lisa’s Lentils Newsletter at to obtain your Recipe Guide free and gain healthy tips, recipes and nutrition information each month through the newsletter.
