I am graduating April 16th from Nutrition School!

Spring is in the air!  If you want to do something special for yourself in honor of this season of new beginnings, this is the ideal time of year to start, especially when it benefits your health, happiness, and career.  Integrative Nutrition’s program could be the perfect way to accomplish this.  To learn more about what this school can offer, I highly recommend that you listen to a live info session.  But don’t wait because the next class begins on March 18th.  This is a personal investment that literally keeps on giving; I have my own experience as proof of that!

I talk to people weekly about my nutrition school because it’s shaped my life in many ways.  It’s directly contributed to this blog www.lisaslentils.com over the past year as well as has enriched my life with new knowledge of nutrition and self-care, an education I could not have received anywhere else.

The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) offers a curriculum of nutrition and wellness mixed in with business building. training students to become health coaches and start their own business and although I thought that was what I wanted to do when starting, my focus has changed back this year to my primary position at the University of Colorado.  I started school because of my interest in nutrition as a possible career, but what I learned was more about myself.

I started my own business with the skills and knowledge I gained in my studies.  At the time I enrolled I had already begun this blog and had been writing it for 6-mos.  Most of the information on my blog was nutrition focused with a little of my personal life sprinkled in here and there.  What happened was as I got more interested in my classes I was able to create blog posts that were not only fun, but informative too.

IIN provided business tools to get me started including my very own website, www.lisas-lentils.com, that I could customize for my target market, business cards, brochures and the opportunity to hear from leaders in business marketing and development.  My business is a work in progress and at this point is more like a hobby than a career, but a day doesn’t go by where someone will ask my advice on nutrition and that always intrinsically makes me feel happy.

Many people can make a living as a health coach and some of my colleagues in the course have successfully done just that and created a business where they are giving presentations and seeing clients.  I actually went the opposite direction.  Having always been a “type A” personality, I pushed myself to the limit and this past year has been no exception.  With working full-time, being in school and starting a business, as well as keeping up with friends, family and most importantly my relationship with Chad, I actually began to step back and evaluate where I was headed.

I am in a very good place right now and I believe this satisfaction is actually influenced by my education this past year.  Far more than a nutrition school, the information is valuable to learning about improving my own health.  IIN has become very close to my heart and I cannot imagine where I would be without this valuable community of professionals in the health and well ness industry.

If you are considering enrolling or if IIN is right for you, drop me an e-mail at lisa@lisaslentils.com and check out the Institute for Integrative Nutrition!
